The high quality dual language immersive approach at the Bilingual International School of Paris places an equal value on both French and English, with neither seen as a ‘foreign’ language. Beginning with children as young as two and a half and all the way through to eleven years, classes are taught by native speakers of French and English in a 50% daily split. The cognitive and social benefits of bilingualism are very well-evidenced in educational research, and the formative years where minds are open and brains are ‘plastic’ and busily developing are exactly where language learning is best placed.
Children entering the Bilingual International School of Paris don’t just become part of a class, they become members of a special ‘family’ where educational, social and creative growth and learning at many levels is nurtured, enriched and tailored to each child’s unique needs. Personal, social and physical development form a crucial part of the curriculum, alongside the national Educational Frameworks used in both France and England. Classes are kept small so that teaching staff can build strong relationships with pupils. Communication with parents is frequent and informative.
The Bilingual International School is a private, independent and non-denominational educational institution which describes itself as both modern and old fashioned: modern in the way it utilises the latest technologies and pedagogical research to enhance learning and opportunities for each child, and old-fashioned in the best sense in that it places a special value on each child as a unique individual with particular skills, abilities and values to be cultivated and nurtured.
At the end of their program at the school, children will leave ready to move on to the next stage of their education as well-rounded independent learners who are bilingual in speaking, reading and writing both French and English. They will have experiences and skills as a direct result of a bilingual education which will last a lifetime!
